A Readable 12 Concepts (plus a few other items…)
- Real-Life Tradition Discussion Questions (PDF) – This is a list of modern Traditions problems for personal practice, a friendly chat, or a service workshop. Here’s a suggested workshop format: Invite a dozen people to each talk about one Tradition for no more than 2 or 3 minutes. (Just the basics, please!) After this 40-minute series of talks and a break, split the room into small groups. Each group should pick a few of these questions from a hat and discuss them for 45 minutes to an hour. To close the workshop, have each group report about the questions and their answers. Be sure to have some Traditions literature and pamphlets available at the workshop!
- Sponsorship Discussion Questions (PDF) – These questions cover major stages of sponsorship (preparing to sponsor, helping the person settle in, the major Step and Tradition work, and long-term maintenance sponsorship) as well as many other issues. Great for individual preparation, discussion with a sponsor or friend, or a sponsorship roundtable at which everyone shares their experience on these practical issues.
- Roundtable workshop materials for Steps, Sponsorship, and Home Groups (ZIP file of Word docs) – This ZIP file contains six Word documents with complete guidelines, sample flyers, and discussion questions. The five “roundtable” workshops cover: sponsoring, Step work (in three parts), and building strong home groups. It’s strongly suggested to use the Sharing Session format described in the AA Service Manual, with a few key changes described in these materials. Participants will share and hear specific, practical techniques they can use immediately. Trouble downloading the ZIP or Word files?
